If your focus is to be healthy, as you make progress towards your body will look healthy as a consequence. Conversely, if your focus is to just look thin, ripped, toned, etc. without regard for the consequences of your actions you will move further away from health.
This is a powerful idea that needs to be shared with the “Health and Fitness” community. Too many people are willing to sacrifice their health in the pursuit of fitness, “cutting off their nose to spider face” in the words of Micheal Scott. If you are only sleeping 6 hours each night, it doesn’t matter how hard you push your diet or exercise, your body will not reward you. You can’t pour out of an empty cup.
From my experience, most people know what they need to do to be healthy, the struggle is in the day to day life. When it comes to making those decisions, err on the side of health for long-term results.
