Is Intermittent Fasting a Good Tool for Weight Loss?

Short answer: no.

Intermittent fasting can be an effective strategy for reducing the amount of calories you eat each day which will lead to weight loss but, it usually brings with it some nasty side effects.

The worst and most common side effect of intermittent fasting that I’ve seen is the poor relationship to food it encourages, more specifically is it can cause people to binge.

This alone shows me that it’s not ideal for the vast majority of people. Of which, you are very likely to be included in that majority. So be honest with yourself and ask yourself if it’s worth risking developing an eating disorder while trying to simply lose some weight.
