The more long-term you can think, the more you focus on what really matters. Does it matter that you miss your workout one day because a work project ran long or your kid has a recital? No. it’s more important that you are there for your child and meet deadlines than a single workout.

On the flip side, if you have a new excuse for not working out every day, you need to assess your priorities because that is not a winning strategy. I know you have a lot going on and being consistent can be hard but as long as you are 80% consistent you will be blown away at the progress you make.

Think about how you want to look/feel/be in 1, 2, 5 years and what you need to do today to take a step in that direction. The journey of a thousand miles begins (and continues) with a single step.
